Virtual card for Shopify
Can I pay for Shopify with a virtual card?
Yes. A VCCBuy virtual card works for Shopify the same way a plastic Visa or Mastercard does: enter the card number, expiry date and security code at checkout. The card spends from a balance you fund with USDT, USDC, ETH and other coins.
How Shopify charges your card
People use Shopify for store subscriptions, apps and shipping labels. Shopify issues a bill every 30 days and also whenever charges such as apps or shipping labels reach a threshold.
Which card to use
We suggest the Mastercard Prepaid. A store generates several types of charge, and the higher limit covers plan, apps and labels together.
| Issue fee | $12.99, paid once |
|---|---|
| Top-up fee | 2.5% top-up fee |
| Monthly limit | Up to $10,000 monthly spend |
How to set it up
- Create an account and deposit crypto. Sign up, then send USDT, USDC, ETH or another supported coin to your deposit address. Your balance is credited in dollars once the transfer is confirmed.
- Buy the Mastercard Prepaid. Pay the $12.99 issue fee from your balance. The card number, expiry date and security code appear in your dashboard.
- Add the card to Shopify. Open the payment settings in Shopify, choose to add a card, and enter the details along with the billing name and address shown on your card.
Tips for Shopify
- App subscriptions are added to the same bill as the plan, so the total varies.
- Shipping label costs can trigger an extra bill mid-cycle.
- A failed bill can pause the store, so keep a buffer during busy periods.
Questions about Shopify payments
Why is my Shopify bill higher than the plan price?
The bill also includes app charges, themes, shipping labels and transaction fees for that period.
What if Shopify cannot charge my card?
It retries and emails the store owner. If the bill remains unpaid the store can be frozen until it is settled.
